Modbus TCP/IP Communication Client Module
MVI46-MNETC
The MVI46 Modbus TCP/IP Client Communication Module is designed to allow SLC processors to interface easily with other Modbus TCP/IP protocol-compatible devices.
Compatible devices include not only Modicon processors (which support the Modbus TCP/IP protocol) but also a wide assortment of other server devices.
Features and Benefits
This module was created to improve the performance when servers are not needed on a Modbus TCP/IP network. The module supports up to 30 clients with up to 16 commands for each client, making it easy to enable/disable the commands from the ladder logic. The client command control word contains one bit for each command.
Some of the other features include:
- Support for the storage and transfer of up to 5000 registers to/from the SLC processor's controller tags
- Module memory usage that is completely user definable
- 10/100 MB Ethernet compatible interface
- Configurable parameters for the client include:
- Minimum Command Delay
- User Defined Commands (Read/Write)

- Single Slot - 1746 backplane compatible (Local or extended I/O rack only. Remote rack not supported)
- The module is recognized as an Input/Output module and has access to processor memory for data transfer between processor and module using M0/M1 files
